laminated

in
color
and
composition
, as
diopside
,
malacolite
,
salite
,
coccolite
,
augite
,
etc
.
They
are
all
silicates
of
lime
and
magnesia
with
sometimes
alumina
and
iron
.
Pyroxene
is an
essential
constituent
of
many
rocks
,
especially
basic
igneous
rocks
, as
basalt
,
gabbro
,
etc
.
